Opened in 2004, it occupies three floors with contemporary art exhibitions. From its terrace there are views over the town and the Genal Valley. At the entrance you can get a map with the location of the more than 250 works of art scattered throughout the streets and squares. It is a reference point for the "village-museum" project in Genalguacil.
The only historical monument of the town. Baroque style temple with Mudejar reminiscences, built in the sixteenth century, destroyed in the Moorish rebellion of 1570 and rebuilt in the eighteenth century. Three naves separated by semicircular arches and octagonal bell tower.
The nerve center of Genalguacil, meeting point and ideal starting point to walk through the streets full of sculptures, murals and works of art. In the town there is approximately one work of art for every two inhabitants, the result of the Art Encounters held every two years in August.
Viewpoint with views over the Genal Valley and the chestnut groves that surround Genalguacil. More than 90% of the municipal territory is covered by forests; from here you can appreciate the Serranía de Ronda and the character of a white village in the middle of nature.
The streets, squares, facades and even fountains and benches of the village are home to some 250 permanent works by more than 200 artists: sculptures, murals, installations and paintings. A stroll through the old town allows you to discover this unique open-air museum, with no fences or opening hours.
The headquarters of the town hall and the organizational heart of the Genalguacil Art Encounters, which since 1994 have brought national and international artists in residence. From here the urban art heritage is managed, turning the town into an inhabited museum.
