Passion Hospital · Ciudad Rodrigo (EN)
POI
Built on the site where the synagogue of the city was located. The land was donated by the Catholic Monarchs for the construction of the building once the Jews were expelled from Ciudad Rodrigo in 1492.
Externally, the access door made by Juan de Sagarvinaga in a neoclassical style stands out. Inside we can see several works of great sculptural richness, such as the crucified Christ of Lucas Mitata and the ivory carving of the Virgin of Buen Suceso. It is also worth admiring the original floor, which belonged to the synagogue that was located here and has reached our days in a perfect state of preservation.
This building is now part of a nursing home. The interior can be visited on certain occasions.
