Caleruega is born for the history between the years 912 and 940 of our Era, it is in these years when Caleruega is born. The name, according to philologists, derives from the Latin "cabis", lime, an abundant product in the area. A group of families from Old Castile (from the north) or Mozarabia (from the south) formed the settlement and established a council.
