Bubión, the village where the sea draws the character of its people.
Bubión "Tierra de Bueyes" according to the derivation of the Latin "bovium", is located in the heart of the Alpujarra. It hangs from the Poqueira ravine that descends from the Veleta peak of Sierra Nevada. It has been declared a Historic-Artistic Site and a Site of Cultural Interest. It belongs to the National and Natural Park of Sierra Nevada. The village retains its traditional architecture, whose resemblance to the Berber buildings of the Maghreb mountains is striking, landscape of steep streets and terraced houses with flat slate terraces and adapted to the steep profiles of the terrain.
