Berlanga de Duero Castle

1. Berlanga de Duero Castle

Imposing fortress that combines a medieval castle of the fifteenth century with a spectacular Renaissance wall adapted to the artillery. Inside, the keep and the parade ground stand out. Its silhouette dominates the landscape of Soria, offering one of the most powerful images of Spanish military architecture, where defensive past and stately splendor merge.
Palace of the Marquises of Berlanga

2. Palace of the Marquises of Berlanga

Built in the 16th century, this Renaissance palace was the residence of the Constables of Castile. Although it suffered serious damage during the War of Independence, it still retains its majestic facade and remains of its spectacular hanging gardens, inspired by Italian models. It is a testimony to the political and cultural power of the town during the Spanish Golden Age.
Collegiate Church of Our Lady of the Market

3. Collegiate Church of Our Lady of the Market

Extraordinary example of late Gothic and transition to the Renaissance (XVI century). It is surprising for its cathedral-like dimensions and its plan of three naves of equal height (hall type). Inside it holds treasures such as the main altarpiece, magnificent tombs and the curious stuffed alligator brought from America, which is part of the legend and mysticism that surround the temple.
Aguilera Gate

4. Aguilera Gate

It is the most emblematic entrance of the old wall that protected the town. It preserves its semicircular arch and the coats of arms of the lords of the town, the Tovar family. Located in front of the Collegiate Church, it is the main access to the historic center. It is a key point to understand the medieval layout of Berlanga and the defensive system that communicated the city with the lands of the Duero.
