POI

Rocabruna Castle
Built on a hill, from Rocabruna Castle, there is a good visual control of the valley of Beget, the Alta Garrotxa and Coll de Ares, Coll Pregon and Coll de Malrem. It is an architectural complex formed by several fortified buildings surrounded by a perimeter wall that functions as a wall. It is mentioned for the first time in a document from 1070. A good part of the walls that divided the rooms that were part of the fortification can still be seen. A part of what was the chapel of the castle, a rectangular nave, a tower with a circular base and a rectangular bestorre with some loopholes are preserved. Currently the monument can be visited and has an itinerary that informs the tourist with explanatory panels and several points that act as viewpoints.
