Ansó preserves one of the best preserved urban centers of the Aragonese Pyrenees and was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest by the Government of Aragon as an architectural ensemble, based on its noble materials such as stone, wood and tile typical of the area. The particular architecture of Ansotán means that, between houses, there are narrow corridors called "arteas" or callizos, about fifty centimeters wide, which are one of the characteristics of the original small town.
