Collegiate Church of San Miguel
Iglesia / ErmitaThis imposing Gothic-Renaissance church from the 12th to 16th centuries is known as the "Giralda de Campos" for its spectacular 63-meter high tower that dominates the town's skyline. Inside you can visit a temple with three naves covered by star-shaped ribbed vaults, where attractive features such as the main altarpiece, a unique 15th century walnut pulpit and the chapel of San Ildefonso with its valuable tombs stand out. Its great artistic and architectural value, which was ennobled under the patronage of the Duke of Lerma in the 17th century, places it as one of the most emblematic monuments of the province of Palencia.

PARAJEThe Ampudia settling ponds are a set of artificial or anthropogenic wetlands linked to the treatment and storage of water, located in the municipality of Ampudia, in the province of Palencia, within the agricultural plain of southwestern Palencia. The resource is located next to the town center and is associated with an open countryside landscape, with a strong presence of agricultural uses and little relief, typical of the sedimentary basin of the Northern Subplateau. The most interesting part of the visit is its value as a wetland for birdlife: it is a small group of water bodies and banks where birds linked to aquatic environments and resting and feeding areas can be observed. Access is via a circular route of about 4.6 km from the village, so it works as a simple interpretive walk and as a complement to the heritage tour of Ampudia. Its relevance is mainly scenic and biological, providing a wet enclave in an environment dominated by dry land. In the local tourist documentation it appears as a natural resource of interest for the observation of fauna, and its designation as a site fits with a small, nearby space of moderate recreational use. It should not be confused with other wetlands of the same name in Castilla y León: these lagoons belong to Ampudia, Palencia, and are identified by their coordinates 41.91261, -4.78347.
