Among its natural spaces, the Natural Reserve of s'Albufereta, of great ecological importance due to the number of species that inhabit it, the mountain of Victòria, the Cap des Pinar and the coast of Alcanada stand out. More than 200 species have already been cited and marine, coastal, urban, forest, agricultural, mountain and wetland birds can be easily observed. As a consequence of this great diversity of habitats and birds, several Special Protection Areas for Birds (SPA) have been declared in the municipality, with the aim of protecting them and facilitating their observation. S'Albufereta is a wetland of vital importance in the bay of Pollença for waterfowl during their migrations, even during the summer droughts the reserve becomes an oasis. The route begins near the mouth of des Grau, enters a small pine forest, crosses a discreet elevation of land from where you can see almost the entire wetland, and ends in open agricultural land. All this in a short walk of just over 3 km, ideal for walking slowly, without haste and with numerous observation stops. At the mouth of the stream are usually seen: kentish plovers, redshanks, sandpipers, hoopoes, gnatcatchers and warblers among others. In spring and autumn, in an area with pine forests you can observe the flight of eaglets, herons and egrets, ducks of different species, stilts and other species of waterfowl. Finally, in the fields, there are plenty of larks, pipits and wagtails, as well as partridges and stone-curlews.
