HOLY WEEK IN TRUJILLO

Easter Week in Trujillo is one of the most impressive celebrations in Extremadura, declared a Festival of Tourist Interest in Extremadura. From Palm Sunday, with the Procession of the Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem ("La Burrina"), to the overwhelming Procession of Silence in the early hours of Holy Saturday, the city is filled with history, art and tradition. Highlights include the Way of the Cross on Easter Monday through the Medieval Village and the solemn processions on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, which cross the emblematic Plaza Mayor.
