Trujillo will once again experience one of its most emblematic days with the celebration of Easter Sunday and the traditional Festival of Chiviri, a unique event in the festive calendar of the city and declared a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest. At midnight from Saturday to Sunday, at 00:00 hours, will take place the first of the meetings with the traditional Chiviri, enlivened by the Pizarro Orchestra, which will return to put music to one of the most beloved and unique festivals of Trujillo. The celebration will continue on Sunday, April 5, from 12:00 noon, with the great Easter Sunday Chiviri, again with the Pizarro Orchestra, filling the heart of the city with festive atmosphere, tradition and reunion. The program will start on Saturday, April 4, at 19:00 hours, with the XLI Chíviri Folk Festival, which this year will feature the performance of Luar Na Lubre, one of the most renowned European folk groups, which in 2026 commemorates its 40th anniversary tour (1986-2026). The Galician group arrives in Trujillo in one of the most outstanding moments of its career, after a career backed by 20 albums, more than 2,500 concerts in over 50 countries and awards such as the Castelao 2025 Medal. The CHÍVIRI, represents one of the most authentic expressions of Trujillo's identity, in which neighbors and visitors share music, tradition and joy in an incomparable heritage environment. The combination between the popular roots of the Chíviri and the artistic quality of a first class musical proposal such as Luar Na Lubre makes this edition an especially attractive occasion to enjoy Trujillo during Holy Week.
