The historic heritage of Medinaceli (Soria) was the setting this Sunday for the Regional Assembly of the Association of the Most Beautiful Villages in Spain, an event that brought together representatives from municipalities in Castile and León, Castile-La Mancha, Extremadura, and Madrid.
The aim of the day was to strengthen cooperation between the towns in the network, share experiences and advance new strategies for tourism and cultural development, with a special focus on heritage conservation and the sustainable promotion of rural areas.
The regional assemblies were consolidated as spaces for meeting and joint work, which favored the transmission of knowledge, the exchange of good practices, and the creation of synergies between territories, contributing to the network's continued cohesive growth and commitment to quality, authenticity, and tourism excellence.
The event was attended by the national president of the Association, Francisco Mestre, as well as mayors and representatives of the municipalities in the central region. Also present was the Director General of Tourism of Castile and León, Ángel González Pieras, who highlighted the importance of this network in promoting rural tourism and preserving historical heritage.
The Assembly was held at 12:30 p.m. at the Ducal Palace of Medinaceli, on a day that included cultural activities organized by the City Council.
With this event, the Association reaffirmed its commitment to the protection of historical heritage, tourism excellence, and cooperation between territories, pillars that define Los Pueblos más Bonitos de España.

About the Association
The Association of the Most Beautiful Villages in Spain, which already has 122 unique locations, was born out of the conviction and need to make the world aware of the wonderful villages that dot the Spanish landscape.
Its objective is to promote small municipalities, preferably rural ones, grouped under the same quality brand, through promotional activities and cultural events both inside and outside Spain.
This network encompasses places of great beauty and personality, steeped in history and culture, villages marked by tradition that travelers can enjoy as they explore their streets and mingle with their inhabitants.
The Most Beautiful Villages in Spain brand is a benchmark of prestige and quality at a national and international level. The initiative is based on the French model Les Plus Beaux Villages de France and is part of the Federation of the Most Beautiful Villages in the World.
