ROUTE TO THE HERMITAGE OF SANTA ISABEL (EN)

The route begins in Rubielos de Mora, taking the road toward Fuentes de Rubielos. After 500 meters on the road, once you’ve passed the new bridge over the Rubielos River, you can take the first wide path on the left or continue a few more meters until you take the trail on the left that climbs up the mountain. Both will lead you to the Mas Blanco spring, which features a picnic area and a pleasant poplar grove.

We continue the ascent along a wide path to the Santa Isabel Hermitage, in the municipality of Fuentes, at an elevation of 1,175 meters, offering breathtaking views of the entire area. There we also find the forest ranger station and archaeological excavations of two Arab wells.

Once there, we can turn back and descend until we reach Fuentes de Rubielos. Just before reaching the chapel, we’ll see signs to continue on the Camino del Cid and the PRTE 21. At this point, we continue along the trail, which is now descending; we’ll need to veer a few meters to the right until we reach the Magdalena Chapel and its picnic area. We return to the main trail and after 500 m we come out onto the road, taking it to the right until we reach Fuentes de Rubielos.
