VII Charangas Contest

Music, a festive atmosphere, and fun will once again fill the streets of Valderrobres this Saturday, May 16, with the 7th National Charanga Contest, an event that has become a staple of the town’s festive and youth calendar, organized by the Valderrobres Youth Association in collaboration with the Valderrobres City Council.

Following the success of the previous six editions, the contest returns as one of the most prominent brass band gatherings in the area, bringing together groups from different parts of the country to offer a day filled with music, entertainment, and lively atmosphere throughout the town’s streets.

The program will kick off at 4:00 p.m. with the brass bands gathering in Plaza de España, followed by a parade to the Municipal Pavilion, where, starting at 6:00 p.m., the participating groups will perform, accompanied by food trucks so attendees can enjoy the afternoon in a festive and convivial atmosphere.

Participating in this seventh edition will be the brass bands Los Bemoles, SSB Siempre Sone Be, Charanga El Mono, Xaranga Telotocotó, and Xaranga Manxisa, who will compete to win over the audience and the jury with their music, stage presence, and entertainment.

The party will continue into the night, starting at 11:00 PM, with a mobile DJ session featuring DJ Cube, DJ David Jardí, and DJ Jarlos.
