The history of the festival began thirty-nine years ago with the revival of the traditional form of the bull-running with flaming balls: the toro jubillo.

Year after year, with the exception of the two pandemic years—2020 and 2021, when the festival was not held—this atmosphere of historical reenactment has taken shape, featuring the market, entertainment shows, theatrical performances, and above all, the spontaneous participation of the local residents. At the market, artisans take center stage, and the quality of their work is an indisputable hallmark of the market’s essence.

To mark the 37th Medieval Weekend, a baking contest has been organized, sponsored by the "Iris" Women’s Association. The rules can be found on the website: www.rubielosdemora.es
