INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY

12 May 2026 · 17:15

Evento: 16 May 2026 · 10:00 — 18 May 2026 · 20:30

International Museum Day is celebrated on May 18, and the Department of Tourism has organized a series of activities to showcase the city’s exhibition spaces. In addition to May 18, the Museum Day celebration will extend throughout the weekend, on May 16, 17, and 18

TOURIST PASSPORT: This year we wanted to do something different, and on the weekend of May 16 and 17, along with May 18, International Museum Day, we will launch a “Tourist Passport.” Through this initiative, we want both tourists and residents of Mirobriga to actively participate in this day, and visit and explore four of the city’s museums: the Tamborilero Museum, the Urinal Museum, the Border Fortifications Center, and the exhibition on the War of Independence.

Those who fill out the tourist passport by answering the three corresponding questions for each site and collect the appropriate stamp may deposit their completed passport in one of the boxes located at the sites to be visited. They will then be entered into a drawing where they can choose between a one-night hotel stay in Ciudad Rodrigo for two people or a dinner featuring local products at a restaurant in the city.

The drawing will take place the week of May 18 and will be announced on the City Council’s social media. The winner must have answered all questions correctly. Just in case, two additional tourist passports will be set aside as alternates.
