The Sociedad Cultural La FilarmΓ³nica de Olivenza, dean of the bands of Extremadura and one of the oldest in Spain, begins the commemoration of its 175 years of history with an exhibition that will allow to know the trajectory of this unique band founded on March 28, 1851 by JosΓ© MarΓa Marzal Rebelo. The exhibition consists of twelve exhibition panels accompanied by instruments, documents and photographs, as well as a Didactic Unit and a story in Spanish and Portuguese, which bring the visitor closer to the history and evolution of the band. Among its singularities is the privilege of being able to wear the Elizabethan military dress uniform, with ros and rapier, the distinctive symbol of this historic band. On the occasion of this anniversary, a small booklet has also been published that will help to know the past, present and future of the Philharmonic. A future that includes the publication of a book on its history, written by Rafael Paniagua Zapatero; the cataloguing of its historical archive, initiated by Esteban JoaquΓn RodrΓguez SΓ‘nchez; and the incorporation of new talents from the Municipal School of Music.
