Candlelight Concert (EN)
Few experiences are as deeply moving as the Candlelight Concerts in Pedraza, an event where music, history, and light come together to create an unforgettable atmosphere.
Classical music and candlelight in one of Spain’s most unique settings.
Organized by the Villa de Pedraza Foundation, these concerts take place on the first two Saturdays of July and completely transform the town’s appearance. During these nights, Pedraza turns off its electric lights and surrenders entirely to the warm, flickering glow of thousands of candles.
Cobblestone streets, squares, and the facades of emblazoned palaces are enveloped in a carefully lit twilight that highlights the medieval architecture and creates an intimate, almost surreal atmosphere. Visitors don’t just watch the spectacle: they walk through it, experience it, and become part of it.
In this unique setting, classical music takes on a special dimension. In the Plaza Mayor, transformed into an open-air auditorium, world-class orchestras and musicians perform pieces that engage in a dialogue with silence, stone, and light. Each note resonates with a distinct intensity, amplified by the surroundings and the collective emotion of the audience.
The combination of heritage, lighting, and music turns this event into a complete sensory experience, where sight, sound, and emotion intertwine naturally.
More than just a concert, it is an experience that transforms “Pedraza” into a living stage, where time seems to stand still and every corner takes on a new dimension by candlelight.
