Medieval days (EN)
In Briones, every third weekend in June, the Medieval Festival transforms the village into a genuine journey back to the 14th century, where history, entertainment and hands-on activities come together to create a unique experience for the whole family.
A Festival of National Tourist Interest that faithfully recreates life in the Middle Ages.
Since 1996, this celebration has made Briones one of the leading events for historical re-enactment in Spain. Declared a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest in 2006 and of National Tourist Interest in 2012, it stands out for its level of detail and the involvement of the local community.
For two days, the historic centre comes alive with over fifty themed stalls recreating medieval trades and everyday scenes: stonemasons, blacksmiths, spinners, glassmakers, basket weavers and cheesemakers demonstrate what life was like centuries ago.
What you’ll experience:
Over seven hundred people in costume transform the town into a real-life stage where you’ll encounter warriors, soldiers, nobles, musicians, jesters and craftsmen.
Scenes such as sword fights between Castilians and Navarrese, Inquisition trials or folk performances immerse you completely in the era.
A lively atmosphere where every corner offers a different story to discover.
As night falls, the show continues with a spectacular sound and light show that recounts the story of the Peace of Briones, signed in 1379 between Castile and Navarre.
You can experience this at:
A celebration where visitors don’t just watch, but become part of history.
Two days to travel back in time and experience the Middle Ages first-hand.
Briones’s Medieval Days are one of the most comprehensive and spectacular historical re-enactments in Spain.
