Traditional Costume

Traditional attire that reflects the history and identity of the municipality.

The women’s costume stands out for the chromatic variety of its petticoats, made of cloth, wool, silk, or thread, always hand-embroidered and richly decorated. They are paired with aprons adorned with black lace and colorful embroidery, as well as with doublets featuring delicate lace in black and cream tones.

The shawls, also richly embroidered and in various colors, complete the ensemble along with handcrafted white stockings, petticoats, knee-length trousers, and neckwear that add elegance and sophistication to the costume.

The men’s costume, meanwhile, features a more subdued yet equally distinctive style. It includes a black or corduroy vest, often trimmed with leather, accompanied by a short jacket and knee-length trousers, both with decorative buttoning.

It is completed with gaiters or leggings, white stockings for festive occasions, a black or red sash, and a distinctive black top hat. The ensemble is topped off with lace-up boots, creating a functional yet highly distinctive outfit.

This traditional costume not only meets aesthetic criteria but also reflects ways of life, available resources, and artisanal techniques passed down from generation to generation.

Its use in celebrations and events keeps alive one of the municipality’s most important hallmarks of identity.

An outfit that tells the story of a town through its fabrics.
