The Xica Party

The main festival "xica", is celebrated on June 16 in honor of St. Quirc who worships in the Romanesque chapel, outside the village and one of the best viewpoints of the Vall de Boi.

The day before is celebrated the descent of faults that 15 days before have been preparing going to the forest to cut down pines and boxwood and prepare the lighthouse. The lighthouse is composed of a tall pine nailed to the ground, surrounded by pine trees propped up at the top and in the gaps is filled with boxwood.

All the houses prepare their fallas that are made with a bundle of teas tied vertically with the handle of the falla.

On the day of the descent, the "fallaires" light the lighthouse and then light the fallas. With all the fallas lit and in a row of one by one, in front of everything with the main fadrí, they descend towards the town until they reach the square, full of people and with the musicians who encourage them on arrival.
