45th FIESTA DE LA CHARRADA

This year marks the 45th edition of the Charrada Festival, which, as is customary, will be held on "Glory Saturday," April 4.

The Charrada Festival is one of the most iconic and representative events of Ciudad Rodrigo’s culture, paying tribute to the culture, tradition, and folklore of the Charro region since 1980. Its roots lie in the rural traditions of the region, and this festival—declared an Event of Regional Tourist Interest in 1991—aims to honor the dances, music, farm work, and events of daily life, serving as a clear example of cultural heritage that endures over time.

It is usually celebrated with great participation and enthusiasm every year, including a permanent exhibition at the Museo del Tamborilero, located in the San Cayetano Seminary building, where guided tours will be held on this day.

This year, the Encina Charra award has been presented to Nino Rodriguez Miguel of Sancti-Spíritus for his work in researching and promoting traditional music from Salamanca.

The guest group that will provide entertainment for the festival this year is from Huelva.
