On the evening of September 12, the Plaza de España in Jerez de los Caballeros was decked out to celebrate a historic day: the official proclamation of the town as a new member of the network of Los Pueblos Más Bonitos de España (The Most Beautiful Towns in Spain).
The event brought together hundreds of residents who wanted to be part of this special moment, sharing the excitement and pride of seeing their town recognized for the beauty of its heritage, the authenticity of its traditions, and the hospitality of its people.
The evening was also attended by the mayor of Jerez de los Caballeros, Mr. Raúl Gordillo Barroso, the president of the Most Beautiful Towns in Spain Association, Mr. Francisco Mestre, and the director general of Tourism of the Regional Government of Extremadura, Mr. Óscar Mateos Prieto, as well as other authorities and institutional representatives.
One of the most emotional moments was the unveiling of the official poster accrediting Jerez de los Caballeros as part of the network. From that moment on, all visitors will be welcomed with the distinctive sign that recognizes it as one of the most beautiful enclaves in our country.
Music and a festive atmosphere put the finishing touch to a day that will remain in the collective memory of the city. Above all, because of the shared feeling: that of residents proud to belong to a unique place, which now shines even brighter on the map of Spain's most beautiful destinations.
