Festival of Crosses and Mayos

As is customary on May 2, the opening of the crosses and the lighting of bonfires take place as part of the Cruces y Mayos festival in Villanueva de los Infantes. This is one of the town’s most iconic traditions, designated as a Festival of Regional Tourist Interest since 1999. The festivities will kick off at the Cruz del Pueblo, located in the Patio de la Alhóndiga.

Among the scheduled activities, the Regional May Festival Exhibition will be held on April 24. The Night of the Ladies will take place on April 30, and the Opening Proclamation on May 1.
