225 years of the War of the Oranges

Today, May 20, 2026, marks the 225th anniversary of the surrender of Olivenza during the War of the Oranges, when it once again came under Spanish sovereignty. It ceased to be part of the Portuguese crown, but the Portuguese spirit has remained present to this day in every street and in every resident of Olivenza.
