Torazu
In a magical and traditional place...
A beautiful village in the mountains of Asturias with just 100 inhabitants. A place with exquisitely preserved rural architecture, notably its ancient 'hórreos,' or raised granaries, giving extra beauty to this unusual and wonderful area.
Torazo is a magical place with a name of Celtic origin whose inhabitants have always taken great care to preserve their traditions, roots and sense of community.
It is nestled on a gentle plateau whose morphology represents a kind of curve, or warp: from the upper part of La Miyar - starting point of an ancient Roman road - to its other vantage point, in the Campo de la Sienra, where a beautiful oak forest ages.
At one end and the other of these points begin and end the town's festivities - the Festival of Boroña de Forna in June, and the Festival del Carmen at the end of August - and they enclose eight hundred and fifty metres of beautiful walking through cobbled streets and among embellished houses, inhabited by locals brimming with hospitality, at the foot of the emblematic Picu Incós, the highest peak in the municipality of Cabranes.
