Robledillo de Gata
This Extremaduran town is located in the Sierra de Gata, half hidden between terraces in the Arrago Valley. Perhaps due to its location, the town's traditional architecture has been preserved throughout history, and features the use of materials such as slate, wood and mud, earning Robledillo de Gata the title of Historic Ensemble.
One of the town's most interesting monuments is the church of Our Lady of the Assumption dating from the sixteenth century - a must for visitors.
If there is one word that characterises Robledillo de Gata, it is authenticity. This town has a great personality all of its own, and does not resemble any other town in the surrounding area. Although it is small, with a population of under 100 inhabitants, it offers hundreds of inviting nooks and crannies to explore.
Robledillo is located in one of Extremadura's most admired rural and natural environments, such that in the area which surrounds it travellers will delight in unspoilt natural spaces, waterfalls and forests, while in the village itself you can enjoy ancient buildings, viewpoints over the river, waterfalls in unexpected corners and emblematic museums like the Oil Museum.
