Trujillo
The impression that the traveler gets when he approaches Trujillo is that of finding himself before a medieval ship stranded on a hill of scree. The city rises proud and vigilant on a surprising and beautiful granite protuberance, on an unusual berrocal, as the couplet says: “If you go to Trujillo, where you enter, you will find a language of berrocals“. The mass of its towers and ruins stands out against the sky.
Trujillo is an open, clear, comfortable, well-urbanized, peaceful city that gives a sense of well-being of a peasant hidalgo. That’s how it was and that’s how it is Trujillo: A meeting point between races and cultures built on the “Cabeza de Zorro” hill to dominate in plain some limits that are lined between the great river basins of the Tagus and Guadiana rivers.
