Beget
The essence of the small municipality of Beget, with just over 20 inhabitants, has remained unaltered for years, thanks to its remote location, and the exquisite care taken over its heritage. Tracing its origins back to the Middle Ages, the town has grown up around the Church of Sant Cristòfol de Beget (10th-13th century), and is located in the Alta Garrotxa - an Area of Natural Interest spreading across the foothills of the Pyrenees in the regions of Garrotxa, Ripollès and Vallespir - although it belongs to the municipality of Camprodon.
Strolling through the streets of Beget, we can delight in its two medieval bridges that cross the Llierca River, and the way in which the cobblestone of the streets seemingly climbs the walls of the houses and blends with the surrounding landscape.
Beget is a starting point for many walking and mountain bike trails, with aficionados stopping at its restaurants to enjoy a traditional Catalan meal rich in local produce.
