Castrillo de los Polvazares
Castrillo de los Polvazares is a town in the province of León, near Astorga, and is considered a Historic-Artistic Site. It is part of the Ruta de la Plata and close to the Camino de Santiago. It is a typical Leonese village with cobbled streets, red clay façades and arcaded gates.
Its typical architecture, rich gastronomy and artisan traditions make this town a destination full of charm and history. The 'cocido Maragato' (known by the name which used to be given to its inhabitants) is one of its most representative dishes, along with the traditional morcilla de León and cecina (a dried meat product).
