Vejer de la Frontera
Beautiful Cadiz town, located on top of a small hill, 190 m above sea level, and only 10 km from the beach of "El Palmar", which belongs to its Municipal District. Its strategic location made Vejer an enclave of the oldest civilisations, which have left their mark on its physiognomy. Declared a Historic-Artistic Site in 1976 and awarded First Prize in the National Award for the Beautification of Villages in 1978, Vejer constitues a typical white village of great architectural and natural beauty.
We recommend visiting its old town and walls, along with treasures such as the Parish Church of the Divine Saviour, the castle, the Museum of Customs and Traditions, the courtyards, the windmills....and in its wider municipal area, rural nuclei such as El Palmar, La Oliva (with its shrine to the patron saint, the Virgin of the Olive), or Santa Lucia, with its Roman aqueduct, among others.
The chance to spend a few days in Vejer - to experience the kindness of its people, delight in its magnificent gastronomy and stay in one of its many charming accommodation options - will turn your visit into an unforgettable experience.
