The Sierra Grande de Hornachos is an isolated relief in the province of Badajoz, in the surroundings of Tierra de Barros, formed by a succession of rocky outcrops covered by Mediterranean vegetation. It stands out for its role as an island of biodiversity in the middle of a vast plain, with holm oaks, kermes oak groves, scrubland and refuge for birds of prey and fauna linked to well-preserved environments. Visibility usually improves on clear days, and spring and autumn usually offer the best conditions for temperature and color of the mountain. In summer it is advisable to avoid the central hours of the day due to the heat and sun exposure.
