The Bocaleones Stream Trail is a short, semi-aquatic river trail located in Zahara de la Sierra, within the protected area of the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park, in Cádiz, Andalusia. It runs alongside the stream bed and, in its final stretch, connects with the lower section of the Garganta Verde, a canyon carved out by erosion over millennia. The trail combines water, limestone, and riparian vegetation: limestone walls, crystal-clear pools, backwaters, and a steep-sided landscape typical of the Sierra de Cádiz. In some places, the water is over 1.80 meters deep, requiring you to swim to proceed, while the initial section is a dry trail running parallel to the stream for about 2.3 kilometers. The route’s appeal lies in the combination of water, rock, and riparian vegetation, set within a steep-sided landscape typical of the Sierra de Cádiz. The route is classified as low difficulty, though it requires appropriate footwear for walking on rock and in water. Dogs are not allowed, and camping or remaining in the stream bed after 4:00 p.m. is prohibited. Access requires prior authorization, which must be requested via email at the address provided by the Sierra de Grazalema Natural Park. There are no beach bars or tourist facilities; what the place offers is pure contact with nature. The best time to visit is in the spring, late winter, and on mild autumn days, although it’s also perfect for summer due to its refreshing atmosphere.
