The Senda del Agua is a simple linear route that follows the route of the pipeline that carried water from the Eiras reservoir to Vigo. Its route combines sections of track and service roads, with an environment of gentle slopes, riverside vegetation at some points and open areas from which the Vigo estuary can be seen. The information consulted places it mainly between Vigo and Redondela, with an approximate length of 13 km in the most publicized section. From the trail you get wide views over the estuary, the bridge of Rande and, on clear days, different nuclei of the inland coast. Its interest lies less in the physical effort than in the humanized landscape: a corridor of water and supplies converted into a natural promenade, much used for walking and pedaling. Some sources also point out that the itinerary preserves a good perception of the contrast between forest areas, periurban neighborhoods and open views towards the estuary. There is no specific figure of protection for the path in the sources reviewed, but it does appear regularly in tourist websites of Vigo and in local hiking guides. It is a route appreciated for its low difficulty and for allowing a clear reading of the metropolitan territory of the estuary, with constant visual references to the Rande Bridge and the inland waters of Vigo. The best time to walk it is usually in spring and autumn, when the temperature is milder and visibility is usually good. In summer it is advisable to avoid the central hours of the day, especially in the sections most exposed to the sun.
