Refugi Rosta d'Arties

The Refugi Rosta d'Arties is a mountain refuge linked to the center of Arties, in the Val d'Aran, in the Pyrenean environment of Lleida. The tourist card places it as a natural/rural resource associated with the National Park of Aigüestortes and Estany de Sant Maurici, and as a starting point for mountain trails. Arties is located at an altitude of 1,143 m, at the confluence of the Valarties and Garona rivers, in a small widening of the valley, which explains its interest as a base for high mountain itineraries and valley bottom walks. The most valuable feature of the resort is not only the building, but the surrounding landscape: an environment of glacial valleys, river courses, wooded slopes and access to routes to lakes and mountains in the Aranese sector. From here you can easily understand the transition between the village, the valley floor and the medium and high mountain environments, much appreciated by hikers and visitors seeking direct contact with the Pyrenees. Its touristic relevance derives from this function of supporting excursions and its integration in a consolidated mountain destination, in a village recognized for its natural attraction. The location in Arties, and not in other places of the same name, is key to avoid confusion with other shelters or lodgings in the Aran Valley.
