The Racó d'en Marc is a corner of the Natural Park of Els Ports, in the municipality of Mas de Barberans, formed by calcareous rock and modeled by water erosion on a steep and very fractured relief. In the local toponymy it also appears linked to the Cova d'en Marc and the Forat de la Vella, two names that are usually grouped together in the routes of the area. The official tourist information highlights precisely its geological interest and its short access from a wooden walkway. From the itinerary you can observe a landscape of ravines, walls and narrow channels, with a very marked sensation of shelter and verticality. It is not a great panoramic viewpoint, but a place of detail, where the forms of the rock, the steps between hollows and the contrast between the Mediterranean vegetation and the limestone walls are more interesting. The hiking guides of the area include it as one of the most striking short visits of Els Ports. Its relevance is given by its location within a protected natural area and the combination of geological and hiking values. In some descriptions it appears as a very short itinerary, about 20 minutes, while other more extensive routes integrate it into half-day tours through the ravine of the Vall and the environment of the Forat de la Vella. The best time to visit it is usually spring and autumn, when the heat is less and the environment maintains good footpath traffic. After rains the ravine can carry water and the terrain can become more difficult, so it is advisable to be extremely cautious and avoid slippery areas.
