Pozo del Esparto is a peaceful coastal spot located in the municipality of Cuevas del Almanzora, on the eastern coast of Almería, Andalusia. It centers mainly around an urban beach approximately 1,200 meters long and 25 meters wide on average, with a coastline opening onto the Mediterranean. The beach combines fine dark sand and gravel, offering a serene coastal setting ideal for swimming, strolling, and observing daily life along this small stretch of Almería’s coastline. From the viewing point, one can see a seaside promenade running alongside the residential area, lined with palm trees and offering views of the sea, where the marine biodiversity is remarkable, making it easy to observe fish and underwater flora. It is of greater interest as a tranquil coastal spot than as a rugged scenic landmark, with nearby services and dining options, including fish markets and seafood restaurants typical of the region. The area is protected within a stretch of the Mediterranean coastline and features amenities such as showers, restrooms, and regular cleaning. The best time to visit is in the morning, when the wind is lighter and there are fewer visitors, and the most pleasant months are from late spring to early fall, especially May, June, September, and October.
