Description

Pebret beach is a coastal area of Peñíscola integrated in the environment of the Natural Park of Serra d'Irta, one of the few stretches of the coast of Castellón with fine sandy beaches still little altered by urbanization. In the municipal tourist information it is described with an approximate length of 280 meters and an area of 5,600 m², data that place it as a small cove/beach of natural character, associated with native vegetation and quiet environment. The most valuable feature of this resource is its condition of virgin beach, with fine sand, calm waters and a landscape of transition between sea, dunes and Mediterranean scrubland. Its interest lies not only in the bathing, but also in the experience of natural coastal edge: walk, observation of the landscape and direct contact with a protected stretch of coastline, where the presence of vegetation and low urbanization reinforce the feeling of isolation and authenticity. Its environmental relevance derives from its inclusion within a protected natural area, the Serra d'Irta, an area of great ecological and scenic value in which the coastline coexists with trails, cliffs and coves. For demanding visitors, the Pebret is of interest as a representative sample of the well-preserved Mediterranean coastline, and for the municipality it provides a unique natural resource linked to the image of Peñíscola as a nature destination as well as a beach.
