Valdearenas beach is an inland beach located next to the Iznájar reservoir, in the municipality of Iznájar, in the province of Córdoba. It is a sandy strip for recreational use, associated with a large freshwater reservoir and an environment of wide shores and open landscape, very different from the coastline. The length cited by various guides is around a kilometer and a half, although the figure may vary depending on how the shore line is measured at each time of the reservoir. From the bathing area you can see the large mirror of water of the reservoir, the surrounding hillsides and, in the distance, the profile of Iznájar perched on the hill. The interest of the place is in this combination of beach, reservoir and agricultural landscape of Andalusian countryside, in addition to the possibility of bird watching and water sports without waves. It is a very frequented space in summer for its character of refuge against the heat. The area is part of the Natural Park of Valdearenas, cited as an area of environmental and recreational value in the Subbetica. It also appears recurrently in local and regional tourist guides as one of the great leisure resources of Iznájar. The best time to visit is between late spring and early autumn; at sunset usually offers the softest light on the reservoir, and on clear days the landscape is appreciated with more amplitude.
