la Concha de Artedo Beach

La Concha de Artedo Beach is a coastal spot in the council of Cudillero, in Asturias, located on the western Cantabrian coast, next to Lamuño and San Martín de Luiña, around the coordinates 43.56762, -6.19198. It is a shell-shaped beach, with a length quoted in municipal and informative sources of between 680 and 760 meters, and an average width of approximately 55 meters. Its most visible feature is the alternation of boulders in the upper part and golden sand at low tide, with moderate waves and a natural shelter provided by the surrounding headlands and cliffs. The Uncín river also flows into it, coming from the brañas vaqueiras, which adds scenic interest and a small estuarine component to the whole. The beach is interesting for its width, for the contrast between high and low tide, and for being one of the most recognizable beaches in the council, with road access and seasonal services. The sources consulted place it within the Protected Landscape of the Western Coast and also link it with protection figures such as ZEPA and LIC, which reinforces its environmental relevance. The municipal information includes parking, signposted accesses and summer lifeguards, as well as intensive use in summer.
