Camposoto beach is a wide Atlantic sandy area of almost 6 kilometers long, in the municipality of San Fernando, within the Bay of Cadiz Natural Park. It is a virgin beach, with large strips of sand, low dunes and a landscape of marshes and salt marshes typical of the Cadiz coast, very conditioned by the tides and wind. From the point of visit an open coastline can be seen, without immediate urbanization, with a feeling of spaciousness and clean horizon. Towards the southern end is recognized the relationship with the Punta del Boqueron and the natural environment of the mouth of the bay, a particularly interesting sector to observe the coastal dynamics and the contrast between sand, water and wetlands. Its main relevance is landscape and environmental: it is part of a protected area and has been consistently cited in guides and tourist resources as one of the largest and best preserved beaches in the province. In some references it also appears as Playa del Castillo, an alternative name useful for the search of historical and cartographic information. The best time to visit it is usually spring and early autumn, when the wind is more bearable and the beach retains good balance between temperature and affluence; at sunset it offers a very clean light on the sand and the coastline.
