The Passeig de Ronda from Sa Caleta to Port de la Selva is a coastal section of the Camí de Ronda, part of the GR-92 trail that runs along the northern coast of Cap de Creus on the Costa Brava in Girona. Physically, it is a very flat route, with low difficulty and almost no elevation gain; the section leading to the S’Arenella lighthouse is about 6 km round trip. The trail winds through rocky coves, steep headlands, and small black-sand beaches, in a geological setting dominated by the rocks of Cap de Creus and coastal flora and fauna typical of the northern Mediterranean. From the viewing point, especially near the S’Arenella lighthouse, there is an exceptional panoramic view of the open sea, the nearby coves, and the coastal landscape, with light that enhances the hues of the water and rock in the early morning or at sunset. This stretch holds historical significance as a former trade route connecting coastal villages, used by merchants and, later, by the Civil Guard to combat fraud and smuggling—which gave rise to the name “Camí de Ronda.” It is listed in reputable hiking guides as an accessible and well-marked route, ideal for leisurely walks. The best time to visit is in the spring, fall, or early morning during the summer, avoiding direct sun exposure and the strong tramuntana wind that can affect the trail.
