The Señorío de Bértiz Natural Park is a large protected Atlantic forest of about 2,040 hectares, located in the northwest of Navarra, in the municipality of Bértiz-Arana and with regular access from Oieregi and Oronoz-Mugaire. Its landscape combines masses of oak groves and other humid forest formations with a historical garden and a network of trails that allow us to read the evolution of the old manor until its donation to the Government of Navarre. It was declared a natural park in 1984 and is part of the Natura 2000 Network. The most visible for the visitor is a very well preserved environment, with mature trees, rivers and ravines, with several trails of different lengths and slopes. The park stands out for its biodiversity and for being a good place to observe forest birds; it is also known for its historic botanical garden, which adds scenic and botanical interest to the visit. Its environmental relevance is notable for the quality of the forest and for the presence of species associated with mature and humid masses. In guides and tourism resources of Navarre it appears as one of the most representative natural spaces in the north of the community. The visit is especially pleasant in spring and autumn, when the forest shows better color and the atmosphere is usually softer; on cloudy days or after light rain the landscape gains depth and contrast.
