The Órganos de Montoro are a limestone formation of great spectacularity, with needles and almost vertical strata that exceed 200 meters in height. They are located in the Maestrazgo area of Teruel, between Villarluengo and Ejulve, in the eastern sector of the Iberian System, where the Cretaceous rock has been shaped by the differential erosion of water, ice, wind and folding processes. From the roadside viewpoints, the most recognizable profile of the monument can be seen: a succession of stone "tubes" that justify its name. The view is interesting both for the scale of the relief and for the geological reading of the landscape, with very abrupt walls, cuts and well-marked strata. In the environment there are also holm oaks, black juniper and catalogued Aragonese flora, as well as birds of prey adapted to these crags. The area is protected as a Natural Monument of Aragon and is also part of the Natura 2000 network, in relation to the ZEPA Guadalope-Maestrazgo River and the SCI Muelas y Estrechos del río Guadalope. The area is included in official tourism and geology guides and resources due to its landscape and geomorphological value. The best light is usually at dawn and dusk, when the limestone walls gain relief and contrast. Spring and autumn are the most comfortable times to visit due to temperature and visibility.
