Description

The source of the Urederra is the point where the Urederra River springs from the karstic massif of Urbasa-Andía, in an environment of Atlantic forest with beech, oak, maple, elm and ash trees. More than an isolated waterfall, it is a stretch of river with turquoise waters, pools and small waterfalls that follow one after another in a very humid valley, modeled by the dissolution of the limestone rock. The access is regulated because it is a fragile and protected natural space.

How to get there

By car: from Estella-Lizarra or from the NA-718, take the NA-7187 towards Baquedano; access to the itinerary leaves the reception area next to the village. Parking: parking is available in the Baquedano reception area; parking in the village is restricted to residents. Trail: 6.2 km round trip, about 90 m of elevation gain and 2-3 hours of walking, with low difficulty and well signposted. Footwear: hiking shoes with grippy soles. Best season: spring and early summer, when the flow and color of the water tends to be better. Warnings: prior reservation is mandatory and the daily quota is limited; the last stretch to the spring may be closed for conservation.
