Description
Founded by the IV Counts of Chinchón D. Luis Jerónimo Fernández de Cabrera in the XVII century, it is built in brick and masonry. During the War of Succession to the Spanish crown it hosted the Archduke Charles for a few days. With the passage of time it became a center of humanist formation, during the XVIII and XIX centuries, with chairs of theology, grammar and Latin. After the disentailment of Mendizábal it became a court of the Judicial Party until the beginning of the 20th century. The part formerly occupied by the monks, today is the Parador de Turismo de Chinchón.
