El Mirador del Salto is a panoramic balcony over the Duero valley in the surroundings of Saucelle, within the Arribes del Duero Natural Park. From this point, it overlooks a landscape of fluvial cliffs, steep slopes and the settlement associated with the Salto de Saucelle, with the power plant and hydroelectric facilities linked to the great use of the river. It is a viewpoint of landscape reading: it helps to understand how the Douro has carved a deep natural border between Salamanca and Portugal. The most interesting thing is the breadth of the view, which combines the industrial architecture of the hydroelectric dam with the relief of the highlands, very steep and with a strong contrast between the high platform and the bottom of the valley. On clear days, the folds of the riverbed and the succession of walls and hills that characterize this protected area are clearly visible. The reference to the "jump" refers to the hydroelectric tradition of Saucelle, one of the most recognizable names in the park. Because of its open orientation and the usual clean atmosphere in the region, the light in the early morning or late afternoon usually offers better colors and less haze. It is advisable to visit it calmly and combine it with other viewpoints in the area to compare perspectives of the same canyon.
