The Puerto Nuevo Lookout is an elevated observation point located in the province of Jaén, Andalusia, at an altitude of approximately 1,022 meters above sea level. It is a visitor facility that offers a sweeping panoramic view of the city of Jaén and its surroundings, set amid green valleys and hillsides. From the observation deck, visitors can enjoy an excellent view of the city, which stands out for its geographical setting that blends the urban landscape with the natural beauty of the surrounding valleys. The site features decorative elements such as a large sculpture of a Pakamuro warrior (also known as Bracamoro or Pacamoro), which means “Man Painted Red,” and a giant coffee cup, a symbol of the region’s flagship product. It also features a giant rainbow and a “gateway to the sky,” as well as a 360° observation deck from which to enjoy the spectacular view. The area is home to interesting flora, such as ficus, lemon, catagua, soursop, and Italian pine trees, as well as fauna including butterflies, woodpeckers, chilalas, and wild rabbits. The observation deck is in good condition thanks to the owner’s care and offers adventure tourism activities such as an extreme swing and zip-lining, along with local cuisine and excellent Jaeno coffee. The best time to visit is between January and April, when rainfall is most frequent, or during the warm tropical months with temperatures ranging from 24 to 36° C.
