Isla del Soto is a fluvial area of about 14 hectares in the course of the Tormes River, in Santa Marta de Tormes, formed by a riverside landscape with gallery forest, pedestrian paths and open spaces for walking and cycling. The environment has been conditioned for public use and preserves the character of a river island, something unusual in a municipality in the Salamanca area. From its accesses and walkways one can appreciate the direct relationship with the river, the riverside vegetation and the leisure spaces integrated into the landscape: paths, rest areas, children's area, fishing posts and the Interpretation Center. Also noteworthy is the ambush art project, with large-format sculptures integrated into nature, which adds cultural interest to the tour. Its local relevance is given by being a great green space of reference for Santa Marta de Tormes and by being included in the official tourist offer as one of the most visited natural spaces in the Salamanca area. Access is free and the visit is especially pleasant in spring and early autumn, when the riverside offers better light and milder temperatures. The visit allows visitors to understand the evolution of the riverside landscape of the Tormes and to learn about traditional trades linked to the river through the Interpretation Center.
