The Gorg de Malatosca is a small waterfall with a pool, integrated in the valley of the same name and very close to Sant Joan de les Abadesses, in Ripollès. The enclave combines a wooded river environment with a low waterfall and a pond where the water is usually maintained for much of the year; several local guides describe it as a place of easy access and a cool and shady environment. From the point of visit the waterfall, the pool and a frame of riparian vegetation that concentrates enough photographic interest in a few meters can be observed. It also appears in local publications for its link with the so-called "witches' waterfall", a popular legend that gives it an added narrative component without altering its main value as a natural corner and walk. The access is supported by the old station and the Ruta del Ferro i del Carbó, which makes it a simple excursion to combine with the industrial heritage and greenways of the area. Tourist sources in the Ripollès region rate it as a route of low difficulty and around 8.5 km in the longer circular option, although the gorg can be visited on a much shorter route. The visit is especially appreciated in autumn and winter, when there is usually more flow and the contrast with the vegetation is greater. In summer it can function as a brief and cool stop, although it is advisable to be cautious if you intend to enter the water or walk through wet areas.
